Denali Kantishna Tour

A trip to Denali National Park is not complete without visiting the historic Kantishna District. Kantishna was a gold mining camp located in the center of Denali National Park. For years the owners of Kantishna fought with the federal government for access to their camp using the National Park Service road through Denali Park. When they won the plea, they sold the camp to Doyon, LTD., a native corporation, who now operates the camp as a wilderness lodge adventure.

This thirteen hour trip into the park is the longest tour available. It departs the park entrance at 6:30am and returns about 7:30pm. The tour is fully narrated and includes lunch at the Kantishna Roadhouse. Following lunch, join a park naturalist for a walk and talk on the tundra.

You can spend an entire day discovering a piece of the Park that only a small number of visitors ever find. Kantishna Wilderness Trails is the most inclusive day trip available during your visit to Denali National Park. Discover a piece of Alaska's gold rush history and the warm hospitality of the Kantishna Roadhouse.

Overnight stays at Kantishna are available.
