Experience the magic of the Iditarod in living color all summer long at IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours.

Located in the seaside town of Seward on Alaska's stunning Kenai Peninsula, IdidaRide offers dog sled rides and tours that are guaranteed to be a highlight of your Alaskan vacation.

Whether you arrive in Alaska by plane, ship, or automobile, IdidaRide's tours and optional transportation allow you to experience the world of sled dogs and the Iditarod with ease and affordability.

IdidaRide features two summer tour options that are geared for the young and old alike! The one and a half hour Wilderness Sled Dog Ride and Tour is the perfect way to learn about and experience the amazing canine athletes who race across Alaska. The Iditarod is the common theme throughout the tour. Your tour guide and sled driver are experienced mushers who know what it's like to run from Anchorage to Nome by dog team. The dogs are world-class Iditarod athletes.

Wilderness Sled Dog Ride and Tour

Let the enthusiasm of the huskies excite you as each one is harnessed and brought to the team on our 1½ hour tour! You will be amazed by their power and spirit. Step aboard our custom wheeled sled and your real Alaskan adventure begins. Our tour guides provide lively narration of trail lore and experiences on the historic Iditarod Trail.  All of our guides are Iditarod and/or Junior Iditarod Mushers.

In addition to the ride, this package includes a tour of the Seavey's Iditarod Racing Team kennel, a chance to play with this year's new puppies, and a demonstration and discussion of the Iditarod and the unique clothing and equipment required to travel by dog sled in the Arctic.  Plenty of time is allowed for questions about the Iditarod and the life of Iditarod mushers and dogs.

This tour is geared toward young and old alike.  Children love playing with the puppies.  Adults enjoy the Iditarod Trail tails.  Everyone loves the ride!!!  The tour is easily accessible by wheelchair and limited mobility persons, and is safe for everyone.

The Real Alaska Tour

Spend a day exploring the best of Seward by land.  Meet your driver at your hotel or the Alaska Railroad depot and take a short drive to the Seavey Homestead, where three generations of Seaveys race and train sled dogs.  Experience the thrill of mushing through the forest behind a team of world-class sled dogs while you enjoy IdidaRide's Wilderness Sled Dog Ride and Tour.  Lean why the Iditarod truly is "the Last Great Race on Earth."  Puppies eagerly await your arrival.

Depart the Seavey Homestead and enjoy a hearty lunch at nearby Resurrection Roadhouse before heading out to Exit Glacier, a major attraction of the Kenai Fjords National Park.  Enjoy a short guided walk along the nature trail that takes you to the face of the glacial ice.  Keep a look out for mountain goats, moose, or a bear high up on the mountainside.

Lastly, take in the local sights and history as your tour guide takes you through Seward before returning you to your hotel, ship, or the Alaska Railroad depot.

All transportation in Seward is provided for the Real Alaska Tour.
