For adventurers who want to expand their horizons and explore more of the Root Glacier, we offer the full day hike. When the morning hikers head back to Kennecott, these explorers will set their sights on the cascading waterfall flowing off of Donoho Peak into an immense cavern underneath the Root and Kennicott Glaciers, or head towards the 7,000 foot Stairway Icefall. More time - more glacier - more ice canyons and blue pools and moulins (vertical waterfalls disappearing into the depths of the ice).

The Wrangell and St. Elias Ranges are some of the most remote and wild mountains in the world. Weather at times is savage, we highly recommend giving yourself enough time to explore this wilderness with weather delays taken into account!
