Alpine Hiking

Bonanza Mine

Take a leisurely hike up the old Bonanza Mine Road looking down on the glaciated valleys below. Once above the trees "North America's Mountain Kingdom" unfolds, and at the mine site the tram head, mine shaft entrance and other aspects of mining days can be seen. This hike gains over 3,000 vertical feet in 4 miles, but it follows a road the entire length. Visitors can easily follow this path without a guide and we would be happy to point them towrds the trail head. If you'd like to identify the wildflowers along the way, the peaks in the distance and learn about the geology and glaciers, we'd be happy to oblige! Encounters with roaming black bears can happen, so be alert and sing a song as you round the corners!

The Wrangell and St. Elias Ranges are some of the most remote and wild mountains in the world. Weather at times is savage, we highly recommend giving yourself enough time to explore this wilderness with weather delays taken into account! We recommend purchasing a travel insurance policy, as no refunds will be given due to weather.

All Prices are per person. All multi-day expeditions require a 50% non-refundable advance payment.
