Drive your own Dog team (8 Hours)
Warm winter gear provided. This tour is designed for the more adventurous person who would like to drive his/her own dog team.
The tour starts at your hotel or bed & breakfast with pick up around 9 am. A one hour drive through the beautiful Alaskan winter world will bring you to Goldstream Kennel near Nenana. Over a hot cup of coffee you will meet your musher and guide, discuss all aspects of dog mushing and plan out your day. Fitted with proper winter gear you tour the kennel, select your dogs, hitch the sled and have your first try at dog mushing. Over the next hour you learn the skills necessary to run your own team, then you are ready for the big outing. With a four dog team you hit the trail and quietly slip through 14 miles of snow covered forest, frozen rivers and open tundra. Your guide and musher will accompany you during your trail run. Hot drinks will await you after you return to the kennel. around 4 pm you will head back to Fairbanks where your day will end with drop off at your hotel or bed & breakfast around 5 pm.

Warm winter gear provided. This tour is designed for the person who wants to enjoy a tranquil ride in a dog sled and experience the excitement of dog mushing while having an experienced musher drive the team.
You will be picked up at the hotel or bed& breakfast around 11 am and after a one hour drive, you arrive at the Goldstream Kennel where you meet your musher and guide. Equipped with warm winter gear you tour the kennel, enjoy the dogs and learn some of the basics of dog mushing. After harnessing a team of Alaskan Huskies you will be comfortably seated in the sled. Over the next 14 miles you glide silently through snow covered forest, frozen rivers and open tundra with only the sound of the runners and the breathing of the dogs. Halfway you break to enjoy the surroundings, hot chocolate and light snacks. Around 3 pm you will head back to Fairbanks, where your day will end with a drop off at your hotel around 4pm.
